Case Study:

Change Champion Programme
at North Standard

After a major merger in 2023, NorthStandard set out to empower its network of 25 Change Champions to lead through change and foster alignment across the organisation. The fast-paced nature of the change led to communications that were often reactive and transactional, focusing on status updates rather than proactive engagement. Having the full network of 25 individuals on large calls also made it harder to build community and clarify their evolving roles. As the pace of change began to slow, they partnered with us to strengthen change management skills across the network, reflect on past communications, and address new, emerging challenges.

Every transformation has its stages. Like a play, we guided North Standard through three acts: building the foundation, practising key skills, and delivering a resilient finale.

Act One: Defining the Role and Understanding Ourselves

Established a clear structure for Change Champion roles and explored effective change theory. Built confidence and purpose to drive meaningful impact.

Act Two: Influence and Impact

Practiced communication techniques through hands-on exercises and real-world scenarios. Refined skills to inspire collaboration and align messaging effectively.

Act Three: Resilience and Emotional Elasticity

Workshopped strategies for fostering resilience and emotional intelligence. Created actionable maps for navigating change and supporting others.

• 90 Days of Free Executive Coaching: Participants received ongoing support to overcome challenges and apply their learning effectively.
• Follow-up Check-In: A one-month follow-up ensured continued progress and provided additional guidance.
• Tailored Learning: Short, customised recordings focused on key workshop insights, allowing for flexible learning for both current and future Change Champions

• Improved Communication: Participants reported a noticeable shift in how they communicate—pausing to think about their words and delivery, leading to more thoughtful and effective conversations.
• Stronger Collaboration: Teams expanded across the change network, connecting with colleagues from different functions for mutual support.

The following key skills were also applied:
• Change Influence: Confidence in using change theories to drive impact.
• Positive Communication: Effective message structuring and alignment of voice and body language.
• Emotional Resilience: Built resilience and emotional intelligence to navigate challenges and support others.

Spire Healthcare is committed to the highest quality of patient care and has earned a reputation as a leader in its field.

Spire Healthcare offers a wide range of treatments and procedures to insured and self funding patients.

Spire Healthcare were looking to explore ways in which some of their key business leaders could develop their presence and maintain a high level of performance in the work place.

Series of practical acting techniques blended with leadership development which were categorised around the physical, the vocal and the mind.

Participants were equipped with effective yet accessible techniques they could implement back in the workplace in order to stay at peak performance level, optimising productivity. The structure of the workshop enabled participants to identify areas of strength previously unknown and develop areas they weren’t so comfortable in, enhancing self awareness. Furthermore, simple exercises could be harnessed in order to enhance their presence before presentations to the board, increasing their influence skills.

I have had the pleasure of working with People People twice on Leadership Development Programmes. Rob is an excellent facilitator, blending acting techniques with leadership development, his relaxed and welcoming style ensures that all delegates take the most from their learning.  I do not hesitate to recommend People People to you.

London Quest were looking to equip 250 volunteers of the 2015 Rugby World Cup with skills to engage and interact with spectators.

People People designed and delivered two separate workshops in 5 cities for up to 60 participants at a time. Workshops were designed to explore techniques and exercises around raising energy, developing personal impact, effective entrances and exits, drawing in audiences and making spectators feel valued. As a result of the work, we were able to gain the buy-in of participants needed in order to make the programme a success.

Participants put into practice the skills they had developed during their training in the 13 tournament stadiums nationwide. The programme was deemed successful by key stakeholders of RWC2015, London Quest and featured on the ITV National News.

When designing and delivering a tournament-wide programme for the Rugby World Cup in 2015, People People’s knowledge and expertise proved invaluable.  Their intelligent and measured approach encouraged truly effective collaboration throughout the planning stages. In delivery, the facilitator’s ability to quickly establish a genuine rapport with the trainees, gaining their acceptance and trust, was one of the major contributors to the success of the programme as a whole.

Health Education England (HEE) exists for one reason only: to support the delivery of excellent healthcare and health improvement to the patients and public of England by ensuring that the workforce of today and tomorrow has the right numbers, skills, values and behaviours, at the right time and in the right place.

NHS Health Education England wished to improve the productivity levels of cross specialty, clinical and non-clinical, NHS employees.

In collaboration with their lead coach and supervisor, we designed a short practical workshop using the kind of exercises actors may utilise before they go on stage. These were geared around enabling participants to find an inner source of inspiration which they could access and carry with them back in the workplace.

The workshop was extremely highly evaluated. NHS employees were armed with a wealth of tools and models they could utilise when back in their relevant sectors to reduce levels of stress and enhance productivity and personal wellbeing.

“People People and myself devised and delivered a workshop to cross-specialty NHS employees. It was a generative and collaborative process. After listening carefully to the brief, they encouraged ideas to generate and develop, offering structure and content along the way. The process was creative, collaborative and fluid, but at the same time remained efficient and structured to ensure the product was delivered on time, and covered the agreed outcomes.

Having met the facilitator before delivery, it was clear that he was well prepared and professional in his approach. During delivery, his enthusiastic, energising and confident style inspired the participants to fully engage with the workshop and it’s themes. The whole experience was very positive, and the workshop was extremely highly evaluated.”

People People are a pleasure to work with. Their Pretty Powerful presentations course was excellently facilitated. They create a safe, collaborative environment where our team are able to be themselves, step outside their comfort zone, and present with greater engagement, confidence and personality. I will definitely be using their services again.

‘People People encourage longevity in relationships by extensively preparing and not just merely turning up. It’s so reassuring to know that you are going to get something useful. What I like about them is that they’re not vanilla. They’re like chocolate and blood orange ice cream. You think you know the chocolate part, and then you get hit with an added blood orange twist. They have such an energy in the room.

As a result of the programme, every single person in the talent development group was aware of what they did well and needed to work on in order to increase their impact during presentations. They were inspired to work overnight and used the learnings from the session to coach each other before they delivered to their seniors the following day.
